All Star Code creates economic opportunity by developing a new generation of entrepreneurs who have the tools they need to succeed in technology.
We are a nonprofit computer science education organization focused on motivated young men of color. Our ultimate goal is to close the wealth, income, and opportunity gaps by developing a strong talent pipeline, creating diverse future leaders in America. We expanded our signature six-week Summer Intensive program to Pittsburgh this summer with one cohort of 18 students. It was a success!
Proud to announce the 2nd Summer Intensive 2018 in Pittsburgh!
July 9 – August 17, 2018
Next summer 2018, the program will grow to 3 sites giving 60 motivated high school boys the opportunity to become All Stars! Applicants are selected based on a set of non-academic attitudinal traits: Collaboration, Growth Mindset, and Hustle. Computer science experience is not required – 72% did not have before they started the program in Pittsburgh and 100% finished knowing how to build an App!
Applications will be available in Spring 2018!
Please fill out the form below for updates of when and how to apply.

Our version of graduation is Demo Day, the culmination of the Summer Intensive program where students pitch the App they created with their new skills and experiences. They address problems in their communities, save the user money, or tackle social issues. Our students did an amazing job; they pitched to over 100 parents, friends, guest speakers, funders, teachers, new partners and even a few potential new All Star Coders!
Now, they are Alums and part of an ever-growing network of 360 All Stars. As part of our Alumni Program, we established a mentorship with engineers from Google Pittsburgh to help them fully realize their Demo Day apps. By 2022, as we continue our expansion plan they will be part of a network of 10,000 strong across the country. Once an All Star, Always an All Star!
All Star Code launched our inaugural Summer Intensive in Pittsburgh in summer 2017! We’re thrilled to have the support of Chatham University in hosting our first ever cohort of All Stars in the Steel City.
