Meet Anthony Box. Anthony is an ASC 1 alum, currently in Beijing on a year-long School Year Abroad program. Anthony has loved living in Beijing and learning Chinese, and hopes to one day return for an internship or job with a tech company in China.
Anthony was featured on CNN last Fall in a segment titled, “US-China Relations: Can Teens Success Where Presidents Have Failed?”
Anthony hopes to attend a leadership camp this Summer, and is looking forward to studying abroad in a Spanish speaking country so he can brush up on his Spanish next. He’ll be returning to All Star Code this Summer as well, spending some time with our second Summer Intensive class as a newly minted mentor.

Q. What was your experience with coding and tech prior to participating in All Star Code’s workshops and Summer Intensive?
A. I took a basic computer science class in high school. I also watched some coding videos on Youtube and tried to teach myself to code.
Q. Looking back, what was the most valuable thing you learned at the ASC Summer Intensive?
A. I learned how to code as a member of a team, which is valuable in hackathons, but will be even more valuable in my future jobs.
Q. How did ASC help you find or create your current opportunities?
A. ASC taught me a lot about coding. I also met so many amazing and successful people who taught me about taking chances. The most important thing is just to start.
